Five of London’s Best Nightspots

London_-_Camden_Town_by_Horst_Michael_Lechner

London has been labeled many things in its time; the banking capital of the world, divorce capital, a foodie’s paradise and the breakfast capital of the world among others, according to the Guardian. While it’s certainly all of the above, it’s also a wonderful place to enjoy a night out.

With London being such a vast city, there’s always something to do regardless of whether it’s a weekday or the weekend. So, with all of the above in mind, here are 5 of London’s best nightspots.

1. Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, Shoreditch

A hipster’s paradise in the heart of Shoreditch, the Hoxton Square & Kitchen is a breeding ground for the latest hip bands doing the rounds at indie clubs across the country. It’s showcased bands like the Foals, Vampire Weekend and The Hives in years gone by, according to Time Out. It’s also got a mean kitchen area where they sell anything from creative takes on cheeseburgers to passion fruit soup.

2. Fabric, Farringdon

After all these years, Fabric is still one of the premier nightclubs in London. It’s now been open for 17-years and regularly showcases the likes of Nicolas Jaar among a slew of high-profile club nights including Their On & On parties. The club’s open from 10pm on Saturday and runs through until 6am on Monday. Resident DJ Luciano has been known to play an entire 40-hour set from time-to-time. Fabric also holds club nights throughout the week, so be sure to check out their listings page on their website for further reading.

3. Urban Food Fest, Shoreditch

For backpackers and foodies, street food markets are wonderful places to sample an array of cuisines from around the world. Shoreditch’s Urban Street Fest is an assortment of food that changes every two weeks, meaning you’ll never get bored of visiting this unique market. It’s open at night and is a cauldron of creative independent foodies bringing the best in street food to passers by. The Standard reported you can try anything from “Peruvian ox cheek skewers to frozen yoghurt with bacon and popping candy” at the Urban Food Fest.

4. Camden Night Markets, Kentish Town

Camden is one of the most creative districts in London, renowned for being a centre point for musicians, artists and photographers. It’s also home to one of the best night markets in London. Along the Camden Lock (main image), Camden’s night market brings to the fore bric-a-brac, antiques, independent clothing and vinyl stalls, tattoo parlors, food vendors and much, much more. However, recently it’s the market’s food vendors, which have been attracting the most press inches, with Kentish Towner suggesting it was only a matter of time before the region capitalised on the Lock’s potential.

5. Annie the Owl Pop-up Bar, TBA

Now this one is a little different to the rest of the nightspots included. Last year, the Annie the Owl pop-up bar opened for one week only on March 20-25. The pop-up bar is expected to do the same in 2016 in Soho but details have yet to be announced on their official Annie the Owl website. However, this isn’t just any pop-up bar, people who want to experience the bar have to signup for a lottery ticket beforehand. Last year, more than 50,000 people signed up to see Annie the Owl and to enjoy cocktails in the quaint café bar. Lottery tickets cost around $31, and although they didn’t release an exact figure on how many winners got the chance to enter the Owl café the odds are certainly better than the odds for the Euro Millions draw, which according to LottoLand has a jackpot that can rise to $185 million, but the odds on winning are approximately 116,000,000/1. To make sure you are in with a chance of winning a ticket to enter the Annie the Owl pop-up bar café, keep a close eye on their website in the coming weeks for further details.
